Mini Trip to Chester Creek Trail (7/2)

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

Earlier today I had about an hour and a half to myself while the director and another staff member were taking a nap (they had been up since 3 to drop the first set of campers off at the airport). One of the counselors told me about a trail about a block from the house so I borrowed a bike and pedaled out there.

There are a few of us here at the house now – the director and a few staff members – so it’s no longer just me. I absolutely welcome the company because it was a little lonely and because I’m ready to get out to Homer and get started, but I am also realizing that yesterday was my only day in the next month that I would have had to myself. For those of you who know me, you know I’m not the most outgoing person but I’ll get to work on that!

I was originally heading to Homer tomorrow morning with one of the camp staff members, but a few of the counselors are heading back late tonight so I’ll probably head back with them.

On a side note, the director just took me and another counselor out for a sushi and sake lunch so I think I’m going to do just fine here!
